Help Text message lag after update 2.2

So updated to 2.2 OTA. Did a hard reset to clear out old apps.
I backed up my sms and imported back in. Now when I get a message or go to type one in the thread it is extremely slow at opening up the thread. Only about 200-300 sms depending on the person. Doesnt matter if I use the stock messenger or handcent.
Anyone have any ideas?

im having the exact same problem!!
did the reset too.. even turned off animations like other people have said..

any ideas anyone?

yeah I suffer from a lag when typing since the update, and not just in messages. if I type too fast, it gets choppy, and sometimes it lags so much that it skips auto-corrections (like leaving "ive" instead of changing it to I've").

Same problem here. Prior to the 2.2 update this phone was a beast! Now, it's so laggy!!! Any solutions or help!!!
