The sound for my text message notification has gotten very quiet lately..I've checked all the proper volume settings and they are set to max yet the alert for text messaging is very quiet...and I've rebooted the phone with no luck...any other place I should look or is this a known issue?

Do you have "use incoming call volume" for notifications checked? If so, uncheck it and see if the volume is maxed ... if not, check it and see if that increases the volume.

You might also try downloading an app called "Quick Settings"
I found the included Android volume control a little lacking, but Quick Settings lets me independently change volume settings for: ringer, notification, media, alarm, voice call, and system volume.
It's a free app as well.

This app did it...while Android was showing my notification volume at 100%, this app showed it down to like 30%...thanks!!!!
