Text message notification sound

I can change the default notification sound for tweets, mail etc but it has no effect on the alert for an incoming text message. Anyone know how to change this?

Go into settings within the SMS app you are using, either the default Hero one or a third party one like Handcent. Options are there to change teh notification sound, vibrate, reminder etc.
