I've recenetly installed the newest version of cyanogenmod on my rooted EVO and I noticed that it now fails to send long text messages. Does anyone know if there is a setting to change this? I have been unable to find one.
Define long? It usually divides the messages up and sends them. I dont recall having issues with messages though. You using 6.1.1? I am on 6.1.0 not upgrading til WiMax and full Ginger.
CDMA networks require text messages to be split after 160 characters. It is a known issue with CM that the stock messaging app is not splitting the messages, causing an error when sending. Downloading handcent fixes the problem.
If you are sending texts through handcent then the syock messaging app won't affect it. If you do delete the stock messaging app yu will lose the ability to send MMS. Go into settings on handcent. Click send message settings. Click slip 160. Then select split by word. See if that helps. Thats what my settings are and it wrks fine for me.
