Help text message problems

I just got this phone two days ago and it just started to randomly send text messages to my contacts. The messages that it's sending are old ones that were already sent and it keeps going in a loop pattern. It starts at the first contact and resends all the messages, then goes to the next one.. etc. Then it starts over again. I don't want to have to reset my phone so I'm waiting to see if there's something else I can do. please help.

Your issue might be remedied by first saving any messages you want to keep, then going into menu > settings > applications > manage applications > menu > sort by "all."

In there select your SMS application and clear all not greyed out buttons (except "uninstall" if that is there): cache, data, defaults.

Then reboot. You'll have to reconfigure the messaging app, of course.

Some users report getting good results by going ahead and uninstalling the messaging app and reinstalling it. You may not have to do that, but it would be the next thing I'd do if clearing data etc did not remedy the issue.
