Root Text Messages in Call Log

So I am very annoyed that my text messages are showing up in my call log. I do a fair amount of texting in between calls. So when I go to my call log and try to make a call to a number that I called earlier or a number that called me earlier.. I have to scroll through a million text messages. I understand you can sort by calls.. Once I sort by calls and I close the phone app when I come back it resets to default. Is there anyway to have text messages NOT show up in the call log at all? This is very annoying..

How savy are you with your phone?
are you rooted?
running any custom roms? or stock?

Page 7 has the file you need but I suggest reading the whole thread as it explains exactly what you need to do. You need to root!

Thanks SIr.. I will be rooting before the day is over.. This is a HUUUGEE Annoyance that I can do without.. If rooting solves my bluetooth issues I will be a very very very HAPPY Camper! Thanks Again...

Not a problem at all
When you take the plunge you can use these videos. He has done a great job putting them together and they are fool proof if you follow them

Oh and if your rooting, most of the ROMs have the call log fix built into them so no need to push that apk seperatley.

My ROM recommendation is for SRF by far and awesome ROM!

Thanks again to Zig... I was able to root my phone this evening.. There is one thing that has me baffled.. I am limited to using only the swype keyboard and my physical keyboard.. Anyway to get the samsung keypad back?.. I absolutely dislike the swype..

What ROM did you flash?

Edit: you could also just check out Gingerbread keyboard in the market if you didnt want to go through the process of pulling it from a zip and pushing it to your system folder
