text messages not being received

Why don't I receive text messages from all my senders? I get some, but others go to my Ipad. I deregistered my old phone (iPhone 4S) on iTunes, but I still don't receive text messages on my new Galaxy Note3. Can anyone help? Thanks

Texts that people send to your phone go to your iPad?

Who is your carrier?

Is it messages from Apple iDevice users that are going to your iPad instead of your phone? If so, perhaps they are not sending their text messages directly to your phone number, but to your Apple userid instead, without realizing it. And/or, are these SMS or MMS messages we're talking about? There's differences in the way carriers handle messages, based on whether they are SMS or MMS. Perhaps that's a factor too. I know that iDevices will sometime generate an MMS message when replying to an SMS message. Or when any user sends a text message to multiple recipients at once, the message type is MMS, because SMS messaging doesn't support multiple recipients. And again, if your issue is related at all to MMS versus SMS messages, that's another thing to consider.

Yes, I'm aware of the difference between SMS & MMS, but the replies are usually individual responses from friends & do not include much data. I was wondering if I needed to adjust my setting on my Samsung to receive both SMS & mms?
