text messages & sprint navigation

I have noticed that whenever I receive a text message my sprint navigation kicks on this is the case with both handcent and the stock app anyone have a clue as how to prevent this from happening ?

It happens to me all the time! And its so annoying. I hope someone knows how to disable it

I have this problem, too, though I'm not sure what program it's linked to. My voicemail also starts up on its own. I uninstalled Loopt because it kept starting up randomly. My Gmail app does the same thing, even though I have it set to update manually. Honestly, I was running Advanced Task Killer once every 30-60 minutes til I just gave up. The phone is still laggy, but it works.
