Why keep 14000 text messages? It would take forever to find an old text anyway.
Have you thought of doing a factory reset on your phone? Probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Its easy if your prepared. Its also a good thing to do after each update, but not always neccessary.
I've never had an issue with texts on my phone. Stock app set limit to 200. Just because I have no need for more then that. Any thread that not active almost every day gets deleted.
My older phones would never let me keep anywhere near that many texts and would just auto delete. Android/evo just gives you the choice of how many.
