Why do I get these random numbers popping up when I start to text, can I turn it off? Blue numbers and not in my contacts, so annoying please help

Need more information.

Stock or 3rd party text app?
Is your phone rooted?
Can you make a screenshot of the issue?
Where do these numbers pop up?
Have you done a battery pull?
Have you cleared cache in the texting app and rebooted your phone?

Samsung told me this was normal but still doesn't seem right!

It's looking up the number. On a standard phone TUV=8 and WXYZ=9, so it's looking up any number in your contacts that have an 89 in it, as well as attempting to search for contacts with a "ty" in them.

When I typed "west" (= 9378) in my phone, I got contacts associated by address, e.g. Westlawn Street, email, e.g. bill@westlinkchurch.org (not a real email), phone number e.g. 316-593-7852 (it's not a real number) and name, e.g. Steve Westin....

Will why would it do it on a smart phone, no way of turning it off? Standard phone feature, that's nice!
