text messaging w handcent SMS

so I downloaded this app, but now everytime I get a text from someone, I get 2 notifications, one for Handcent and one for the old messaging that came with the phone....did I do something wrong or miss a step?

Turn off notifications for the old messaging in the old messaging's settings

Which notification system do you like better? Pick one then turn the other off.

To Turn Off Handcent Notifications: Open Handcent, go Menu > Settings and there should be some checkboxes that you can uncheck for Notifications

To Turn Off HTC Message Notifications: Click on default message icon/app, hit Menu > Settings and scroll down towards the bottom. There's an option to turn on/off Notifications (ie status bar, lock screen, etc)
