Hi i usually use predictive text and everything was going fine. Now my phone doesnt recognise any basic words and i have to type everything in normally, i.e. letter by letter. anyone know what i have done and how i undo it

Hi,
Not sure if this will help but when you're typing a message on the phone style keypad theres a little button icon at the top right hand side 'XT9' and there's also 'ABC' i'm always accidentally hitting this and changing from predictive to normal typing just make sure that the XT9 button is highlighted green, if its not that then go to; Settings> Language & Keyboard> Touch Input > Text Input, make sure that the prediction for QWERTY keyboard is checked.

hi, if things still aren't working then my advice would be to download another keyboard off the android market
i suggest GOkeyboard - i downloaded it t'other day and it works brilliantly, i'm so happy with it. it's got several very handy shortcuts and doesn't hang at all when i type quickly, whereas the original HTC keyboard tended to hang with quick typing and the t9 would stop working, leaving me with a load of gobbledegook which i had to keep correcting.
so yeah, it's probs the software in your current keyboard not being quick enough for your typing, so GOkeyboard is defo the way to go in my eyes; great keyboard!
