Text notfications and HDMI out

For the HTC EVO...

1) I was wondering if there is a way to change text notifications with other sounds/music, besides the pre set boring ones? Seems when I go to menu there is only a select few. Ringtones are fine. I got that issue in hand

2) On HDMI out. Is there anyone else that has only sound coming out to their TV when they try to play a video off their SD card?

I hate asking questions on probably something that's really simple So, TY in advance for any help.

You can install your own notification sounds to your Evo by putting your notification sounds on this directory on your SD card: media\Notification Sounds. Hope this helps.

Does the video play on your phone's screen without the hdmi connected? Maybe try a different hdmi port on your tv, or it could be a bad cable too.
