Help Text Notification doesnt always pop up?!Help?

Im finding that with text messages , quite alot of the time the notification doesnt pop up and it doesnt show i have a text unless i go on the messages app, you can see how fustrating this is, people texting and i have no clue unless i open that, i checked all the settings and its all set up fine?

Any idea whats wrong, if not can you recommend another app which works fine, il try that?

What Android version are you running? 2.2.1 has an issue where notifications don't always pop up. Download SMS Popup from the market and that will sort.
 
The update was pulled shortly after it was released so only unbranded handsets who updated when it was available have that particular version. I believe there are some branded handsets out there with 2.2.1 but it has been tweaked by their provider.
 
i have GO SMS and it gives me a pop-up notification.

I also have the notification on the top bar.
 
I use SMS popup and SayMyName. I get a popup on the home screen and a named announcement of who the SMS is from.:)
Just remember to disable the built-in notification or it'll do both sometimes.
