Text notification settings

I'm using handcent as my text messaging app. I have gone into the default text
messaging program and turned off the notifications but am still getting
notifications from it, as well as from handcent. What else do I need to do to disable it?

I dont think there is anything else. I also have Handcent and just went it to the stock messaging app and unchecked the Notifications box. After that I only get them through Handcent.
