Help Text prediction with physical keyboard

Hello everyone,
I own the HTC Desire Z for a few months now and since my main language is swiss-french, I'm using a QWERTZ keyboard (physical & virtual).

The text prediction is working pretty well with the virtual keyboard in french and english (I have set up both language in the settings).

The problem is with the physical keyboard. The phone doesn't seem to use any french dictionary to predict words. When I open the keyboard, I have the little "EN" logo in the task bar, so it's using the english dictionary.

When I go into Settings > Language & Keyboard > Touch Input > Hardware keyboard settings, I have only two choices in the "default language" setting. English and German. The prediction option in the same menu is also activated.

So I believe that there is no french dictionary installed on my phone for the physical keyboard.

Does any of you know if it is possible to install one?

Thanks a lot

I have much the same problem.

Phone is bought in the UK, but I'm moving to Denmark.

I'm aware that I'll have to root the phone to reassign a few keys to add the Danish letters it doesn't contain, but that doesn't help me much, as for the physical keyboard the only prediction language is English.

It doesn't even help me to flash the Danish software version to the phone, as the keyboard layout would be changed completely.

It does seem like a bit of an oversight that HTC hasn't made it possible to change the prediction language for the physical keyboard.

With any kind of mod, is it possible to add a 2nd language for the physical keyboard prediction? Or is my best bet to flash the Danish software, then reassign almost every single key back to it's UK design?

Thanks everyone for your help ahead of time...

Try downloading a keyboard app, i use swiftkey and for word predictions its great because i use the physical aswell the onscreen keyboard. I use it for english and Spanish.
