Text to speech on keyboard

when typing a message (text, email, etc.), if I hit the mic on the keyboard, Vlingo pops up. Is there anyway to have google handle the transcription when I push that mic button?

Menu>Settings>language and Keyboard>Multi-touch keyboard>preferred dictation engine

Then select Google.

Thank you so much...it's great to get an answer that works...one follow up, is there any way to tweak that same setting but for the swype keyboard instead?

Unfortunately not that I've found. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the swype so I use the multitouch keyboard mostly anyway.

Thanks for taking the time to try to help me out again. I have been trying out Swype...thought I would hate it, but I think I might stick with it for awhile.

you have to install the latest swype beta to use google voice search to text rather than vlingo:
