Occasionally some of the people I send texts to receive my text with a ? between each letter. Mostly my IPhone friends. My phone is stock with minimal apps added. Haven't detected a pattern. Any ideas?

I've noticed that if I use a symbol that isnt supported by the receiving phone (like an upside down question mark) it does that to the message on the receiving phone

Yeah they're probably using a symbol that isn't supported by the OV. Not much you can do about it as far as I know.

Actually it was the other way around. I sent a text with the degree symbol from my OV to a friend with an IPhone 4. They do not have that symbol and it converted to ? and filled the text with a bunch of ? symbols. There are probably others. This only happens with my IPhone friend and has happened several times. Of course, The Iphone guy assumed it was a problem with my OV. :D

sounds like an iOS text rendering bug. Most other devices leave you with a rectangle but only for the missing character, which is font dependent... i.e. so sometimes you get a character too, but not the one that you originally used...
