Help Texting, picture mail quality

I would love to be able to send full size pics via text like I remember AT&T/iPhone would do. Is there any way to do this? Every time we try to send pics, it compresses and resizes them and sends them as a slideshow.

Is it a Verizon issue for all their phones? I've been searching and found some people complaining about the EVO/Sprint doing this also.

If you download handcent it still compresses very large pictures but not near as small as the stock app
