Help Texts are received as

This problem has been going on for a while now and is really annoying so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I also know it could be the problem of my network provider so I have posted this in the giffgaff forums too, just hoping for some answers now..

When my friend texts me (from india), sometimes I do get the texts and sometimes they come through as

No the language is english, like the other texts..

It could be voicemail. In the UK for orange customers we get this delta@symbol that always happens when you get a voicemail so it could be the same thing...

Thanks, now I know why I've been getting a funny text every now & then as I am on Orange in the UK.

yup, it is how orange notifies the handset. HTC and Orange are aware of the issue but not sure which company is going to fix it...
