Help Texts Not Working after Using Delete Old Message App

emurider

Lurker
After accumulating 9 months of texts, I made the decision to delete them so that my phone - and particularly my message app - would run more quickly. I first tried manually deleting texts, and if the text conversation was long, my phone would freeze.

I looked for help online and decided to use the Delete Old Messages app. So far, I've ran it twice and have deleted about 25% of old messages, but my texts are no longer working.

When I attempt to send a text, I receive the "Please Wait" message and scroll wheel. This will not leave the screen, even if I try to turn off the message app with Task Killer. I have to reboot my phone to make the scroll wheel go away, and when I do, I am usually able to access my messages and see that the text had sent. According to recipients, sometimes the text comes through multiple times.

I have also not been receiving my text messages. And once in a while when I attempt to view any messages, the application freezes or refuses to load until I reboot.

I've attempted removing my battery for periods of time and it has not helped. Any advice? Should I delete the app? Is a hard reset going to be required?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forums!! :D:D

I have never heard of that app, and it really sounds like you should delete it.

A factory data reset should also correct your problem, but you will lose all of your application data as well.

You can also try updating your PRL/profile from settings>updates
