good question. i personally look under ppl's names and see how much they've been thanked, that says (to me)
1- they're helpful
2- most times they know what they're talking about
3- they're active in the forums, not just leechers (which lots of us are :D)

honestly i hop around from post to post when im bored and if i stumble accross someone in need of help, than further down you see someone had helped them ill thank them for it lol, because he did help someone!, he was helpful and deserves the credit... and honestly when ou are bored its not a bad idea to just start reading some posts/help needed issues lol good to learn from other people mistakes.. you may even be the one to find a better solution!!
 
I decided to thank Shiny because while I help a lot of people(leading to many thanks) I tend to not thank people enough even though I have been helped.

SO to anyone and everyone who ever helped me(the Optimus M forum is where I started) THANKS.

Oh and Thanks in advance to anyone whp may help me in the future because more than likely I will forget to hit the thanks button,lol.
 
Yeah. "Thanks" is a proof of showing your appreciation and effort the person went through to help .

Lets dedicated this thread for thanks to all those people who deserve it and recognize their appreciation!!

Good point! I did the same early on...contributing is just another way of giving back other than donating(which is highly encouraged to the Dev's)

Besides Shiny needs to sleep sometime ! ;)
 
I think a good reason for thanks is simply that.. to say thanks. Aside from some of the staff, we're all here of our own free will. We take time to help out of our schedules to help people. Showing a little gratitude goes a long way (especially when all you have to do is click a button) to show appreciation for that help.

-and yeah, sometimes it's used as a high five. Haha.
 
Because as you know, despite the fact that this is all cold, hard, programming and engineering, there is a vibration deep within each person that resonates, and promotes spiritual acceptance, and if you don't thank people a lot it can make your phone crash, and then you'll suffer a horrible fate like running into my ex-girlfriend at a bar, or attending a Barry Manilow concert.

Don't suffer a horrible fate. be thankful. Think of the children.

Actually my Name is Piero, but if she comes around, "barry" will do just fine.
She's pretty. damming. evil. pretty dammed evil.
just look for guys who once had money and friend, strewn on the streets like victims of a bomb blast. she'll usually be in the middle of that crowd.

Actually basically the entire staff is here under their own free will as well. We were all users before "staff". Well besides Phases who is the Admin of the site and Rob the site owner. I and other guides may have the green tags and the mods may have red tags but we're no different then any user here or any different from fresh to the site newbies. We're all users. ;):)
 
How do i change my emaiop notofication. I changed all my other tones, just can't seem to change my gmail sound. I have a cool FX from robin hood of an arrow. makes me feel really cool and important.

and did you see my asking how to install the plage kernel?

To install the plague kernel you are just going to dl it from the first page, move it to your sd card and then using recovery flash it.

Then just reboot and you're done. If you need more detailed instruction just let me know and I can help more.
