Sure there is, you just dont want to see it. The same situation as the N1 is going on with the supersonic. As with the N1 first it was just a rumor everyone said was fake. Then all of a sudden the name was found buried in the code. Next leaked photos came out, then leaked specs, and all of a sudden it was released. Sorry to tell you but all that has happened for the Supersonic and has BEEN confirmed to be on Sprint.

Because the same question has been asked and answered. Once again the Official Sprint statement is they will update the phone in the 1st half of 2010.

That was a flame, pretty thin skin and not even directed at you.

If anything the forum is being hurt by those that keep posting the "latest" rumor they hear (or read) that somebody

It is an open forum, you are even allowed to call me a dick then apologize in the same post.

Bottom Line:
Sprint will release the update when they release it. You have the choice to deal with it or pack up and move to some other carrier that "today" you feel will treat you better. I expect "today" will change

Remember, there is NOTHING in your contract that states they are "required" to provide you with Android 2.1
 
Hey, thanks for the warm welcome, guys. So, I guess threads that don't include the word "root" aren't welcome around here, then?
 
and by the way, I'm not sure if anyone bothered to actually read the linked article, but it's actually to a new story posted on the parent site today that may shed some light on when it can be expected, not just another "Hey, the Hero is getting 2.1" message.

I appreciate the friendlier response, but I actually did look over the first couple of pages to make sure that no one had posted anything about this particular article in the forum since the article was posted to make sure I wasn't duplicating anything. Whatever -- suppose I'll go back to lurking and let some other noob take the abuse.
 
OK, I see the story posted in the news forum, my bad. I've never bothered to visit that forum, because I had assumed that anything germane to the Hero would be posted in here.

Basically toasty, if it doesn't say anything about a date for 2.1 for the Sprint Hero, then don't post it. The people here are tired of 2.1 threads (for good reason).

We're not trying to be mean about it, we're just tired of the 2.1 threads that say the exact same thing, and don't mention a thing about a date for us.
 
well, fair enough, but if that's the mindset of the forum, then FFS post a sticky about it rather than piling on to whatever hapless sap inadvertently crosses you all while trying to be helpful.
 
We'll get it when they say so and not before. Relax ppl, we are closer today than we were yesterday........a good job takes time.

yeah, I don't think they meant anything by it. It's just gotten so annoying lately with all the 2.1 update threads that say the same damn thing.

It's as bad as all the rooting threads that came up in the same day or two. They made a rooting sub-forum now, we'll see if it has much effect on the number of similar threads that pop up, hopefully it will.

Welcome to the forum toasty....lots of good advice and information here but have to agree with everyone else on this one. Please....no more 2.1 threads til there is an actual date from Sprint.

ya know im sorry for being so direct and a little rude, its just the fact that many people post thread after thread of the same thing. I'm genuinely sorry for jumping down your throat.
