The Australian Open

The weather has been foul so I've been forced to be inside. I primarily watch sports on TV and there has been a lot of tennis aired of the the Australian Open. It amazes me the level of talent and physical condition of the competitors. I've watched tennis over the years and the athletes have upped the game through the years. It's very impressive! Last night I went to bed after the second set between Djokovic and Musetti that Musetti was dominating. Little did I know that only a few points into the third set, Musetti retired from the match with a leg injury. It was a reoccurring injury I guess but I sure didn't see it coming. Djokovic was gracious and acknowledged he was being out played leading up the the sudden withdrawal. The semifinals will be played the 30th and will see Djokovic vs Sinner and Alcaraz vs Zverev with the winners facing off the first of Feb. for the men's title.
The women's semifinals will be played the Jan. 29th. The winner of the matchup between
Sabalenka and Svitolina will face the winner between Pegula and Rybakina for the women's title the 31st.

I really thought that the way Svitolina was playing she was going to make it a better match, but wasn't close.

The Alcaraz and Zverev match was a different story, It didn't disappoint ;)

I'm seeing Djokovic defeated Sinner in 5 sets! I'm blown away! Don't get me wrong, I think Djokovic is one of the greatest to ever play the game but at his age and the beat down he was taking from Musetti, I never considered him to better Sinner.

The Alcaraz / Zverev also went five sets. I watched the first two sets before going to bed with Alcaraz looking to win the match in three. I watched the fifth set just a bit ago. I didn't get to see the two sets Zverev won but they both appeared to be hard fought battles. Great tennis!

Yes, but Novak didn't take the beating that the others took, since he had to walkovers, so we'll see how they both do in the final, this is where we'll see if age recovers slower the youth, LOL

I just watched off the women's AO final. It went three sets and I missed my guess that Sabalenka would win. She was in the driver's seat when she broke Rybakina's serve. However, Rybakina won the next five games and ultimately the last set and match. It was a good match to watch.
