The weather has been foul so I've been forced to be inside. I primarily watch sports on TV and there has been a lot of tennis aired of the the Australian Open. It amazes me the level of talent and physical condition of the competitors. I've watched tennis over the years and the athletes have upped the game through the years. It's very impressive! Last night I went to bed after the second set between Djokovic and Musetti that Musetti was dominating. Little did I know that only a few points into the third set, Musetti retired from the match with a leg injury. It was a reoccurring injury I guess but I sure didn't see it coming. Djokovic was gracious and acknowledged he was being out played leading up the the sudden withdrawal. The semifinals will be played the 30th and will see Djokovic vs Sinner and Alcaraz vs Zverev with the winners facing off the first of Feb. for the men's title.
The women's semifinals will be played the Jan. 29th. The winner of the matchup between
Sabalenka and Svitolina will face the winner between Pegula and Rybakina for the women's title the 31st.

I'm watching the rebroadcast now. It's the first set with Djokovic looking great. I have a lot of respect for the guy. I would have enjoyed the anticipated Sinner Alcaraz matchup but this is entertaining so far. A fun tournament to watch. I was a huge fan of Rod Laver while growing up. There is a good reason the main arena bears his name.
