The Basketball Tournament

I've been watching the TBT games. All three major Kansas alumni teams were playing. KU sent KSU home Monday. The local university, Wichita State is waiting to play the winner of the KU (JHX Hoops) and the HeartFire team. The HeartFire team won the tourney back in 2023. It is a winner take all with a purse of $1,000,000. Players consist of past college players and simi pro players.

is this a local thing? never heard of it.
No... it's national. It is fun to watch some of the players that either didn't make it after college or playing over seas. It's a step down in talent than the college level ball. My daughter bought me tickets a few years back for the first three games hosted at my local U. I believe that the tourney starts with 64 teams that are spread out in multiple regions. The entertainment for me is to watch past players from college teams I follow. Once those teams are eliminated, count me out.

Tonight, the local team will be hosting a quarter final at their house. The AfterShocks will play the Heartfire at Koch arena, Wichita, at 8:00 PM Central. The game will be televised on FS1.
Tune if for a good old fashion playground game. :)

The AfterShocks pretty much dominated tonight's game. They will play in the semifinals Thursday against We Are D3. The game will again be played on their home court Koch arena and aired on FS1 at 5:00 PM Central. It is my understanding that if the AfterShocks should win, they will host the final as well. Home court advantage is huge and they need all the help they can get.

The local boys, AfterShocks, took it to We Are D3. They went into the Elam ending with a nine point lead and won without any great fanfare. They will play Eberlein Drive in the finals on Sunday, 4:00 PM EDT, on Fox. The game will be on the AfterShocks home court, Koch arena.
Losing team goes home with the experience and the winning team wins $1,000,000.00

The local team, The AfterShocks, won The Basketball Tournament and the million dollar prize money. They played Eberlein Drive at our house, Charles Koch Arena. The AfterShocks took an early lead and I think they only trailed by two once. They had a good lead going into the Elam ending and was the first to reach the target score of 82 with a couple of free throws. Eberlein Drive were good sports. It's hard to beat any team when the stadium is packed to the rafters with your opponent's fans. I'm very happy the local boys won.

I found on the internet what each player intended to do with his 1/14 of a million dollars. These are older and wiser players and they all planned on enjoying some but investing most of it. As a group they planned on donating some to the college and their sponsors.
