The beginning of trouble?

I'm looking to switch over to Verizon, so I bought the Nexus. I've had it for 7 days and everything seemed to be pretty good. But last night, "it" started.

I've had two randoom reboots within 36 hours. And this morning, when I took it off the charger, the white LED was blinking to inform me of new email. But when I took it off the charger to wake it up... nothing. Pressing the power button wouldn't wake it up. Just weird.

Those who've used theirs for a while, is this the beginning of a troubled phone? I've seen the other complaints but thought I had dodged those. I have one week left in my trial, so I'll see how it goes. But I didn't want to get to day 15 and all poop break loose.

Thanks! And I haven't rooted, or use any launchers (though I'm looking :))

i have had mine since launch day. I didn't have any reboots on stock (first six hours i had it) and i've only had a couple since applying Roms.

It sounds like maybe a factory reset might fix your issues. You could try that. The main thing i would look at is how your unit handles signal reception and especially the handoff of the radios (wifi to cellular radio)

as a test. If your ever on a wifi network try sending and receiving an MMS and see if it goes smoothly. The phone has to swap from Wifi to Cellular to send this. Often times I and others have experience many problems with this. What it equates to is shorter battery life and a pocket hand warmer. Most of all overall krappy signal reception. I have horrible reception that mainly affects data. I've never dropped a call or couldn't call out because of it.

I'm stock and I DO get random reboots... but not so often that it's a problem. Just more of a nuisance, really. If it keeps up, you can try the factory reset; if that fails, DO call Verizon (who will instruct to you reset so you may as well rule that out first). The phone IS under full warranty and, if it IS the phone, they'll replace it.

The one confounding notification I had was a blue light glowing whenever the phone was in standby. NO notifications of anything in the notification bar, though. Turns out it was a draft message that Handcent had inexplicably marked as "unread". I read it and the light was gone.

So something "unread" is likely causing that light.

I just had that one the other day with Handcent. I put something in the privacy box which had an "unread" message and the damn light glowed solid blue whenever I locked the screen. Luckily I color code my contacts so it led me to the offending issue.

Drove me nuts until I figured it out. I think it might be a Handcent 4.0 specific bug since I don't remember it happening in the past.

When I was stock and stock rooted, I was getting random reboots. Also sometimes it would crash playing music if I was dorking with the equalizer. I am now running a few different ROMs and haven't noticed any reboots, but it hasn't been that long since I flashed any ROMs (i actually was digging the 4.0.4 leak).

I have never had my phone fail to wake up. All of my reboots tended to happen when I was actually doing something on the phone, not when I went to wake it up.

I have only noticed a couple random reboots since having the phone...but i just consider that an issue of ROM'ing. i have been rooted/Rom'ed since day 2.

also i have never had SOD (Sleep Of Death) though...no matter what my system configuration. but like the other said, i would be more worried about signal dropping, mic cutting out, and screaching during phone calls. (all of which i have never experienced stock or rooted)

Thanks for everyone's replies on this. And come to think of it, I did have a "screech" during a call on Friday. But only that one time. Hopefully everything was isolated. Just reading all of these posts here can make one worry.
