The best camera in the world...

The best camera in the world is the one you have with you when you need a camera.

This evening, that was my cell phone.

How about it? Got a photo you took, just for the moment, just for you, that speaks to you?

Let's see! :)
Ah yes.... I can relate to that. I was flying to Disneyland 3 years ago from Seattle and we flew right over at Mt Rainier at sunrise and I saw the most amazing view. The stewardess had made me put my Nikon's away as we were taking off, and the plane was still climbing, so I thought, "what to do, what to do", then grabbed my phone at the time, the Dell Streak, and shot some pics. They came out amazingly well and made my day. I even won some awards with that shot. So, the camera you have with you is the most important!

A 'macro' shot of the inside of the lid from my morning coffee. The tiny droplets intrigued me. Galaxy S4 (HDR mode) and cropped 1:1. This camera phone can close focus fairly well.

Well, I just got back from Disneyland. I took my Nikon down, but clean forgot to take my extra batteries, so guess what went dead the first day there! Right! My Nikon battery... so I had to make do with my Samsung Galaxy S5. I'll post some pictures later today or tomorrow.

I saw this Rainbow in Oregon yesterday and almost didn't stop as normally you need a DSLR for that type of shot, but I thought "what the heck, lets try anyway"... so this was the result... not too bad for a camera phone!

For those of you interested in photographing Rainbows, this a great article, almost too much techie info but great. You can use all or part of it:

Isn't all electronic equipment supposed to be turned off during liftoff and landing?:vroam:

Camera mode works if you have the cell phone on "Airplane mode" which shuts off all other data / calls / internet connections on the phone. ;)
I just flew last week so I know and took pics while taking off and landing.

Caught a few birds having some snacks.

Robin with a rather large mouth full of bugs.

Indigo Bunting chewing on an apple blossom.

Common Yellow-throat testing a blossom.

Cedar Waxwing about to take a bite.

I took it last night with my GS3, while we were out to a concert of a Pink Floyd tribute band. They were trying to look like the two heads on the Division Bell album cover.

In the background is a huge picture on the wall with famous Dutch artists, made by a friend of mine. It is in the theaters lounge.
