I was about to get mad at whatever critters were eating the morning glory leaves on my front porch--until I spotted this:
I moved the leaf to try to get a better/another shot:
The heart-shaped hole in the heart-shaped leaf made me say, wow!

I've got you covered. Not a state fair, but a county fair a couple of weekends ago....
I thought this turned into a pretty cool shot.

Blackberries are just ripening up now in the Northwest. These are wild ones from very thorny bushes.
We have eradicated all blackberries from our property...only because they are so aggressive and will take over any area very, very quickly. It has taken us years to get rid of them and it's an ongoing battle to keep them from reestablishing themselves. And anyone who has gotten a blackberry thorn stuck in a finger knows how painful and annoying they can be.
Nevertheless, the berries are delicious. Luckily, there is an empty 20 acre field across the street which is just about overgrown completely with blackberry bushes up to 25 feet high. It's a great place to pick fresh blackberries.
A bee keeper from Eastern Washington brings hundreds of hives over to this field every year (with the property owner's permission) to let his bees feast on the berries and add a delicious flavor to the honey.
Blackberries: loved, yet unloved.

Ive always had cats...never knew much about having a dog ...didn't even know what a Boston was till I adopted her...but now I'm hooked!!!! BEST DOGS EVER!!!!

Our first Boston, and I think we may be hooked. They're just such fun and happy dogs.
Even if Pippin decided to do some remodeling in the kitchen last week...
I was going for an artsy-fartsy effect, but I think it kind of sucked at that. :laugh: The idea was to capture how the shape and shadowing (on the left side) of the satellite dish mimicked that of the moon late this afternoon.

Waking sticks are just so cool. Really neat bug. Nice pic.
Those remind me of a few I had in my yard a couple years ago. I hadn't seen a walking stick in years and within a few weeks I had both of these in my yard. These pics are about six weeks apart in time, about 20' apart in space.
