the best charger in the world!!

i just want to let everyone know that i been struggling with car chargers for a very long time especially when using navigation. ive purchased all the "rapid" chargers and everything has failed. however the only charger that blew me away was the metropcs 1500mA dual port charger. i swear by it. it charges my phone from 2% to 80% within an hour EVEN if you have gps and navigation on. and best of all it WORKS with the touchstone (for those of u with the wireless charging mod). it will even charge my phone and my friends phone quickly with gps on. I highly reccomend anyone to buy it. it is $25 but well worth the investment and has a lifetime no questions asked replacement warranty at any corp. store.
just go to your local metropcs store and grab one. u might get a discount for 20 if u ask for it.
it even charges faster than my home charger.

But only if you want to charge one phone at a time ;) Some of us have a dual port charger because we need to charge two phones at once.

it will still very rapidly charge two s3's at once while in continuous use browsing and navigation im not even exaggerating. i think it peaks at 2000mA because it is just unbelievable how fast this thing charges. today my friend was browsing and i was usibg navigation and jt charged my 6500mah zerolemon battery from 40% to 92 in about an hour and a half and his was charging quicklt as well not sure how much

The GS3 will draw a maximum of 800mA of current when charging, regardless of whether the charger is capable of 800mA, 1000 mA (1 amp), 2 amps, or 10.

A log of cheap car chargers only put out about 500 ma, so getting a 1 amp charger will charge it faster, but nothing over 1 amp will make any difference.

The other thing to keep in mind is that any charger designed for iPhones will fool the S3 into thinking it's connected to a computer, and it will only draw about 300 mA when charging. Many of the cheap, no name car chargers have this issue. If, when you plug your phone into the charge, it tells you it's connected as an MTP device, or tells you that there is no software on your computer that recognizes your device, you're stuck in the slow lane, charging at only 300 mA.

I have a 1 amp Belkin low profile charger, and it will positively charge the phone even when running Nav and streaming Pandora. And it only cost me about $7 a couple of years ago.

if there is a limit at 800mA it doesnt make sense for the stock home charger to be 1000 mA and for my car charger to charge my phone twice as fast as my home charger. MAYBE theres a limit to the current draw on the battery however there may be no limit to the current draw on the phone itself

And if there was a limit on the battery it is only on the stock. my 6500mAh zerolemon went 40-92 in an hour and a half thats around 3000mAh of charge at a rate of 2000mA tell me that isnt insane
now it was my second charge of the battery so maybe it wasnt calibrated properly but i think its still safe to say there was no 800mA limit during that charge

If thats the case why does my Elixir 2 widget report a charge rate of 999mah? Simple, because the S3 isnt limited to 800mah. Unless maybe the US ones are limited, but my international one isnt.

what rom are u on? does the widget report instantaneous current?

Stock firmware 4.1.2 ma1 it reports battery voltage / current / temp and can be set to refresh in 5 second increments with the default being every minute. If it's instantaneous or not is irrelevant, the current remains constant depending on the amperage of the charger.

ok because i have the battery monitor widget which is a great tool but it estimates the current based on percentage. i tried the widget ur using and i tried it with the current widget. no luck always showing 0mA
im on morph rom which is 4.1.2 metro stock is currently 4.0 ill try reverting to stock soon and try it. i want to do some testing on the wireless charging mod and my car charger. thanks for the knfo

Just use the battery current in Elixir 2 with the default refresh, and wait a minute or so once plugged in.
