Have an Amzer for my N7(2012). Has been great, and should continue to be great for the hand-me-down recipient spouse.

Really like putting some protective bumpers on the corners.

Google New Nexus 7 Covers And Cases Accessories

Several fun colors, including my desired unobtrusive black.

They'll be shipping cases for the '13 on 8/20.

Ordered today- main trick will be to not drop the new baby for 3 weeks, after taking delivery @ Staples today. Am wearing out f5 key refreshing the UPS tracking page. :-)

And Amazon has the ASUS OEM screen protector (matte and glossy in one package); ordered that as well.

Amazon.com: ASUS New Nexus 7 FHD Official Screen Protector - Matte and Glossy Kit: Computers & Accessories

Bumper case and screen protection have worked really well - device made it through 2 drops to concrete.

And I've still got the folding easel if it needs to stand up.

It's not the slimmest, but the Moko slim fit case is great, I have it on my 7.1. To make it even better, it's only 6 bucks on amazon shipped.

I just acquired the new 2nd Gen Nexus 7 and I'd like to get a solid but reasonably priced folio case for it. I've gone with Otter Box in the past for my Android devices however the only one I can find is a bulky (and pricey) Defender series case. Anyone have good/bad experiences with other cases/manufactures for this device? On a sub note does the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen use identical cases? I never had the first one so I don't know if the is any physical differences? Thank you!

1st and 2nd Gen cases aren't the same, as they have different dimensions, 2nd gen has rear camera and double speakers as well.

P.S. I moved your thread into our case thread. :)

Thank you! I did do a search first, maybe I didn't do it right. This is exactly what I'm looking for.

Bought this at Staples and it fits the Nexus 7.2 perfectly. Good sleeve while I wait for the real cases to come out. It is available in store despite what the website says about online only.

I just ordered this one:

Amazon.com: MoKo Google New Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen Case - Slim-Fit Multi-angle Stand Cover Case for Google Nexus 2 7.0 Inch 2013 Generation Android 4.3 Tablet, GREEN (With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep Feature): Computers & Accessories

I have much the same version for my old Nexus 7 and it works great. The addition of the little elastic strap that can hold the cover folded back is great (especially when reading books).

I previously ordered a similar case that didn't have that strap (but at least was shipping earlier), so I'll use that till the one I really want shows up.

When does Otterbox usually release they're cases after a release? How long should I expect for them to release a case for the New Nexus 7?

These are the only ones I've found so far.

Nexus 7.2

I personally like my Caseen for my OG N7. I hope they have one out soon.

Hi:

I am also hoping for a Caseen handstrap case for the Nexus 7 2013. I wrote to them and they replied not until October. In the meantime I have the I-Blasom handstrap case, tight fitting and not quite as good as my Caseen for my Nexus 7 2012.

The I-Blason is an acceptable alternative and it's for sale now. I can post pictures if anyone is interested.

Got this case today. It isn't very exciting, but it will do till a better one comes along (I already ordered the green Moko case I think is better, but it won't ship till near the end of the month).

The magnet always works to turn it off, but is sometimes a little spotty turning it on when you open the case (though it definitely worked the last few times - maybe the Nexus tries to learn the magnet strength?).

The most irritating thing at the moment is that the cover won't fold all the way back, but perhaps after being flexed for a while it will get better.

OK, I've used it more now, and the magnet behavior is really weird. Sometimes it will take up to 10 or 15 seconds after I open the case for the screen to come on. This doesn't seem like a case issue, this seems like a Nexus issue.

They told me September.

The official Sleeve from Nexus is now on the Google Play store for 30 bucks plus 20 bucks shipping. Causing a real stink on the internet about not only the high price, but the high shipping cost also.

I just got the black version which had the same features on the original 2012 Nexus 7. Perfect fit and feels very nice. I couldn't believe that the pre-order price on Amazon was only $3.99! I paid $24.00 for the original in 2012.
