The Case Thread

I will and I just fixed the links. I like how the case has the hard shell inside and the TPU on the outside vs the similar ones on eBay that are the reverse.

I bought a cruzerlite case(smoke), it's nice and smooth, i've dropped it like 3 times face down and nothing happens :)

The only issue is that you might get dust on the sides, so buy a screen protector.

I may end up buying an Otterbox commuter if the bezel isn't high enough on the case I have ordered lol

Update: I just got a response to an email I sent Beyond Cell and they are working on a Tri-shield for the Moto G. Since I had one of these for my last phone and it survived drops so well I'm going to use the one I ordered until it's available.

Well I got the Minusuit case and while it is cool the rim is no higher than a TPU case so it's just $5 temporary protection. I really want to wait on that tri-shield but I'm considering either a Trident Aegis, Incipio DualPro, Otterbox Commuter or Otterbox Defender. The defender is nice but something just seems wrong about spending $50 on a case for a $99 phone lol.

Update: I decided I couldn't wait so I went with the Otterbox commuter. I was looking at one for another phone at Walmart (they let me take it out of the box) and I was sold. Since no one has it locally I signed up for an Amazon prime free 30 day trial just to get the free 2 day shipping so I should have it by Tuesday!

I just got the Commuter today and I'm really happy with it besides the square screen protector lol I'll post pictures tonight.

Here are the pictures. The screen protector has the same rainbow effect that the Supershieldz from eBay had...only the spots are bigger. I don't know what's going on.

I really like the Otterbox Commuter except one thing. The silicone lip around the screen is a dust magnet. I really wish they would make it from TPU instead of silicone. If there was a regular TPU case that had a lip as high as the defender or similar cases that would be my perfect case.

I noticed that the Amzer pudding case seems to have a higher lip than most, can anyone comment on how high it is compared to the commuter?

I'm also curious about this one. One of the reviewers says that you must take the back cover off the phone though but he may be wrong.

This one seems like a cheap version of the Otterbox Defender minus the screen protector. The blue one probably attracts lint but it's probably harder to see compared to the black one.

I ordered the Amzer Pudding case. The Moto G is a slippery bugger. Already slid out of my hands twice. If the Amzer case doesn't work then I may get that Incipio NGP as well.

After seeing this video I'm convinced I should have stuck with my first case. I ordered the Cruzerlite Spi-Force. The only difference between it and the Minisuit is that comes in multiple colors. Don't let it's price fool you it's a really solid case and all the cut-outs are perfect. They can be had for as low as $3 on eBay from China but of course it takes 2 weeks or more to get it. Many people think they are ugly but I love it...to each his/her own.. Yes I know that it's just a re-branded generic case (either that or the generics are copies, I'm not really sure) but I wanted it fast and amazon prime has 2 day shipping for free lol.

The great thing is that Amazon allowed me to return my Otterbox for a full refund even though I already threw out the package and the screen protector!

The case I REALLY want is finally being advertised so it should be for sale soon. When I go to the site and click order now it just takes me to a blank page. I'm going to get it as soon as it's available but keep my current case as a backup.

Yes I love this company they're not as big as OtterBox lifeproof etc. But they're a lot less expensive and I like how on this particular model the front polycarbonite peice covers the silicone so it doesn't attract dust and lint.

When I had one on my centura and I knew I was getting a moto g I threw it across the house a few times and one side of the case came partially unclipped and the phone was fine. In fact I should put it on my roommate's old centura and video a drop test!

I don't even have the phone yet, but Im planning on buying a flip cover. I like that you have the wake/sleep function on opening, and an extra protection on the screen can be useful: I scratched my desire HD screen by simply puytting in and out my tracksuit's pocket.
Problem is, 20$/€ it seems a bit too much for a cover. To me at least. There is something similar on ********** that is way cheaper but as an ugly window
Anyone knows if there is a shop that sells something similar to that case?

Another thing that I thought about is that I'm inclined to drop my phone too much. So those flip cover doesn't seem to protect that much on this event.

The link doesn't work. I'll be filming a drop test on my roommates old centura with my old beyond cell case on Sunday and I mean a REAL drop test lol. I'm going to drop it multiple times from waist and head height as well as throw it as far as I can down a paved road. If anyone's interested I'll let you know when I upload it.

The site is blacklisted it seems, so the link doesn't work.

Edit: I like the cover you bought, since it seems to provide good protection from falling and such: do you know if there is something similar, but that covers the whole screen too?

Does anyone know where to buy a white cover/case? I seen someone with one on G+ but they didn't reply to where they bought it. I thought it looked kinda kool...

The otter box defender is the only one so far. Many people complain about the responsiveness of the touch screen with the built in screen protector but some say it works fie. Also dust can get in through the camera/mic holes and get between the screen and protector.

Lifeproof is coming out with one as well but I don't want to spend $80 on a case for a $99 phone lol.

The Tri-Shield does come with a regular screen protector. And if you put the protector on, I'd say it provides the same amount of protection as the otterbox. I plan on proving it (hopefully!) when I make my video tomorrow.

It does as well as almost double the weight but I'm a dropper so I need heavy duty protection lol. I'd say this case protects just as well as the Otterbox Defender minus the built in screen protector and its only 20 bucks on Amazon.
