Root The ESTEEM EXPERIMENT[WIP]

First things looked at on the new phone was PRL ..3026 was on hers. Noticed that also that same place..and my phone was on 4G..hers on 3G. That should be easy to figure out..Anycut ..somewhere in the LTE settings..will take a look and compare unless you get to it before I do:D

In my area "Detroit" I seem to be getting better 4g once i downgraded to zvb from zvc. I'm still wondering if I should go back to zvc or just stay on zvb. I don't really have any of the issues a lot of people have complained about with zvb.

I will still charge my stock battery to 100% and see how long it last me for my "normal" use(It's anything but normal BTW:eek:) Know I wont be able to touch these stats on my B version.
This is stock C with a few apps installed not using any battery saving app or me manipulating it in any way(not yet anyway;))

To correct this in future, you have this option to resize setting under your usercp option.

1. click usercp
2. click edit option
3. Then at bottom should look like this.
This forum automatically resizes images which are too large. Please choose here how you would like to view the enlarged images.
Default (Enlarge in same window)Keep original sizeEnlarge in same windowOpen in same windowOpen in new window Images In Posts:
Images wider than this width will be resized. Enter 0 to allow all widths, or leave the field empty to use the default value of 640.

Images taller than this height will be resized. Enter 0 to allow all heights, or leave the field empty to use the default value of 0.

This setting will enlarge when small and decrease size when to large.
Hope this is what you can use in future.

While benchmark scores are useful they are not always a true indication of the phone(yeah I know that makes no sence;))

Just flashed GSE LDK-ICK ZVB v1.4 ICS Hybrid
Installed a few apps I use everyday
Made sure the kernel WAS NOT overclock

Stock C Not Rooted

ZVB Bench tomorrow Bud forgot to save it for me :confused:
Thinking my stock battery is toast:eek: this is last night streaming music all night,web,text.Tapa,FB with nothing disabled(Maps ran all night & FB is a juice HOG) So is the HOME Launcher.

That's really bad. :(. How come you have 1x?
 
So with the help of nuttmeg was able to pull the stock not rooted image of the C version(TY man no longer an ADB nOOb now;))

Tried to root the C using the AIO but it was not having it. Eventually was able to root it using the http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2012/02/15/re-rooting-the-lg-esteem/.
Not sure why it wouldn't work but hey it's done:D

Installed CWM Recovery via ROM Manager.
So used to flashing everything in CWM with out ROM Manager we flashed everything below "old school" way.
ROM Manager is very convenient though

Found out some very interesting things after rooting it.
Tried to flash spc_hicks09 soon to be released "Extreme Ice" theme over stock C and this was the result.

Had the pull the battery to kill it:eek:

Flashed GSE LDK-ICK ZVB v1.4 ICS Hybrid to the C(hey she told me too;)) and it works. Going now on it for about 48 hrs with no problems at all.

Flashed http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/483651-theme-gingerpinkie1-0-a.html#post3807020 over this ROM and confirmed working.

Then flashed "Extreme Ice" over that ROM and all is good:cool:

As for kernels flashed http://unleashedprepaids.com/media/phones/esteem/Plague-Extreme_2.2_signed.zip and as suspected she could run higher than my B:mad: and stable.

Then installed the kanaida.homeless.v1.2.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download confirmed working with no issues.

Should have time the next few days to do #'s 3 & 4 in OP 2:)
 
Thanks for sharing the results GB...i have a few test im working on,this new phonei got can clock to 2ghz easy as my other one didnt. :D
