Help The Hot Sensation

Should I worry about the heat buildup that the sensation appears to make when being used? It is only in the lower region at the back and appears to be where the sim card metal clasp is.
How much can these phones take before it shortens the live of a component and do you think hTC would fix it under warranty if it went wrong?
 
Hey I have a Thunderbolt and the phone often heats up. I have no idea what causes it as there are times when there is a process taking a lot of ram causing the overheating and there are other times where I have done nothing on the phone and it overheats. Also, I quickly realized this weekend because it was so hot that when you're in hot weather, the phone overheats even hotter, like it is on fire literally. It's not just beacuse of the hot weather as I used to have a blackberry and it would never get THIS hot.

All in all, when your phone starts heating up, kiss goodbye to your battery life as it will drain the shit 2x as fast.
 
I have noticed this alot with the Sensation, especially when I am playing Gun Bros whilst the handset is on charge.
Don't know if it will get so hot as to damage the internals, might degrade the battery life though.:confused:
 
I have had the Sensy for nearly 3 weeks now so I have had a while to get used to it. I will post a review shortly under another thread and reference it from here.. please check back in a few days...
 
I've had the sensation for 1 1/2 months now.
It use to overheat when playing games and all. Nothing out of the ordinary as it cools down when the phone is idle.

But recently, it started heating up while it was in my pocket.
No apps were running.
Wi-fi was off.
Bluetooth was off.

Its not the battery, as were mentioned previously by other users.
Its the processor, right below where the battery is.
And the worst part about this is, IT SUCKS THE BATTERY'S LIFE IN HALF A DAY!

Some people do not experience this (as i've search throughout the forum).
But many people do as well (its like a 50/50 thing).
I'm not sure if it's an application i've just installed (juz downloaded Quadrant).

What do you guys reckon i do? Replacement? Reformat?
I'm sure HTC knows about this. It's like some sort of defect in a few models.

And the worse question to ask is, IS IT PERMANENT?!?!?

Im gonna try a factory reset and see how it goes before resorting to replacement...

Please help guys if u have any idea :(
 
Pull the battery for 10 seconds and then re-boot. May be the processor just getting jammed up if you haven't re-booted the phone for a while.

Out of interest, if you go into settings > about phone > battery > battery use. What do those stats read?
 
Also,... Hold down the power button and select the option Restart phone (which will close all apps), if you use fastboot its best to do this every once in a while.
