Help The laggy Live Wallpaper glitch

So as many of you may have noticed by now, Live Wallpapers (with the exception of the default Phase Beam LWP) are extremely laggy on this phone. It is impossible for this to be due to the hardware, as most of these LWPs run twice as fast on my old, stock Droid X as they do on the G-Nexus. Examples include both stock LWPs (Water) and downloaded LWPs (City at Night).

Clearly, there is a software issue at work here. My first question is, has anyone already figured out a fix for this? My second question is, is there anyone here with enough coding know how to explain why every LWP, both stock and dev created, would run at half the speed as my Droid X (with the exception of the Phase Beam LWP)?

Kill live wall paper and save yourself some battery. Turn it on to show off to ifruits only.

Love the phase lp. I'm sure with an update this can be remedied. I agree it shouldn't lag on this phone, but give it a little time it just came out today!

Maybe the GPU just isn't up to snuff to display a live wallpaper at 720p.

This would be plausible if the Phase Beam LWP, which is more graphically involved than something like the "Bubbles" LWP, wasn't lightyears faster. This is definitely a software thing.

Yep, I was actually surprised that they included some of those LWP's that clearly slow the phone down. Didn't expect to see any slowdowns w/ this phone. :/

Wow... I just switched to normal wallpaper & this phone is flying. The only problem showing live wallpaper to ifruits now is they would want to hold it and most likely everybody skips through homescreens & with the live wallpaper it sucks so much lag

I really hope this can be fixed! Its really upsetting that my gf's 2 month old sgs2 on sprint doesn't even flinch with the same live wallpaper that brings my gnex to its knees :-(

Apologies, but please try to keep the discussion on track. This is a thread for raising awareness and looking for a solution, not for bashing other phone companies or for discussing how we shouldnt use LWP.

Really? I didn't see it as bashing if Live wallpaper is useless right now no point in showing off... That's all I was just trying to say as reply back to the other person.

I have no problem in using LWP if it actually works ....this has noting to do with battery saving and etc...

Good thing it's a Google experience phone. Otherwise, you'd be waiting 6 months or more for an update. That is why the Droids just don't interest me anymore. Google direct updates FTW!

I wonder how much the 720p resolution has to do with it.

Live wallpapers are sort of stupid, there is a reason not even full laptops or desktops really allow them as stock yet. They simply just use up a ton of resources for very little besides occasional eye candy.
