Root The Leaked ICS Rom Link Is Down

Just wondering why the link has been down: xda-developers
I was wondering if anyone has a mirror to the Rom.. I'm looking forward to creating Roms for everyone but I just need some more Roms to be rolled out before I start.. I work over on xda with the Evo Shift and the HTC Hero CDMA.. I usually port Roms but I'm willing to help the Spectrum users. Considering I own one too and probably will never swap back to HTC :D Thanks and I hope I'm not posting in the wrong section! :)
 
Hello, you're certainly in the right section also at the right time (we're always looking for more roms) and you also say you have a spectrum so all appears good, imho.

At this time the community appears in holding pattern over the ICS, as we are expecting the OTA sometime soon.

So hope to see your work around. Some of our members more active in. development may know more about the leak so I'll wait for them to write here. :)
 
Since i see you port roms, is there any chance you could take some of the MIUI roms, the 2.3 or 2.4 roms, and port one over to our spectrum? They have kind of the ICS feel to them. And would love the full functionality that the MIUI offers put onto the Spectrum :D If not, sorry to bug. But figured i'd try since the MIUI to me, has alot of functions to it as does ics.

youd be better off just waiting for the ota... the leak has hard bricked way too many devices... only a few people have successfully flashed it and got back to gingerbread safely... also 4g doesnt work in the leak as far as i know

miui aint possible at the moment... weblexa and admn81 or neph81(cant remember which one) have both tried source ports and bin kangs... nothing other than the brokenout plague and eclipse roms will boot

we do have a talented team of devs constantly working on cm9.. and once the ota drops we should be able to get better roms running

The devs working on cm are d2a and PG just to clarify. Weblexa is the dev working on miui. Mega the spec community is glad to have you on board as we welcome all developers and their work

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for looking forward to my work! I'm not the best dev out there but I usually can get something booting. I haven't ported miui yet so that would be a challenge for me.

I've been trying to port sense but fail every time I try because I really really did want to have the HTC MyTouch 4G Slider stock sense on my HTC Evo Shift but its a lot of work.. Never did get it boot. Although I'm still learning on how to port some things I think I can eventually port sense and maybe to our Spectrum.

LG Spectrum ( After having this device, I'll never buy HTC again )

Definitely definitely definitely! Try to port paranoid android if you can. That is one amazing Rom. And I love how it turns your phone into a mini tablet.
 
What devices have the devs tried to bin kang or port from? SU640 is a very similar phone and has ICS and CM9 already.
 
What are you saying? I shouldn't develop like that? My apologies for trying to help. Didn't know I need to build from source. I'm very good a porting and I'm about to port 4.1 to the evo shift. It will be the first 4.1 Rom for the Evo Shift.
 
I can't speak for d2a but I don't think he meant it that way mega. I think he was trying to update or explain why it is taken him and PG longer to complete their development. We want you to continue your work and are excited to see what you and all of the others devs can do :-). It's exciting too have so many people all working with spec and personally I like it cause each of one of the devs has something different to being to the table! Seems odd I'm trying to play the peacekeeper, usually it's me making or posting something that makes me sound like a Dick lol

Lol I'm sorry for freaking. I've been trolled well over 3 times to the point where this guy rated all my threads one star. I don't take no crap from anyone anymore lol :)

Agreed...you shouldn't take anyones crap. I'm no dev, I'm just a fan/supporter/flashaholic, but I will say you guys pour your hearts in to your work and sometimes haters don't know when enough is enough. I have only seen one ocassion here on the Spec all things root forum where things got a little heated but other than that things are kept on topic. I have never seen a forum that's not riddled with HATERS til' being a member here! Were a small group but VERY apprecative of devs. We have donated several devices to devs in a relatively short period of time...in fact I was the first person to contact Nitro in regards to dev'n on the Spec, and got him in touch with the guy that had a device to donate.

Looks like your doin' some really cool stuff so in advance "thanks for your contributions to the Spec community!" I'll be lookin' for your work...:D

I was a little ticked that there is no section for Spectrum in XDA because there is A LOT of development over there and this site is new to me and thanks for thanking me for my contributes :) I might not get anything to boot to be honest. By looking inside the Rom's folders and all, I notice that LG has different named Folders from HTC. I'm taking a wild guess and thinking its the manufacturer that makes those folders. Not sure why this is but I've also noticed it with Samsung. Also heres a quick question, after flashing Roms on this site, they all have the same APK's inside the Rom. Just wondering im not hating on it. I'm just wondering if it's an issue or something. This is my first LG android and NEVER will I get a HTC again.

First Android: HTC Hero CDMA ( Overclocked always at max which is 768MHZ lol )
Second Android: HTC Evo Shift ( Awesome phone still was 100$ used and not as good as the spectrum )
Third Android: LG Spectrum ( BEST ANDROID EVER! My only complaint is the battery goes super quick for me, I've done the whole charge and die thing already. )

Sorry for blabbing I just like this community and how nice it is. I will be posting on here some of my work just to give examples and yes, whenever the ICS Roms start rolling out, I will port it to the Spectrum. I think it will be awesome because of the large screen we have and the HD Display. Lol. Have a great day! :thumbup:
 
Well people just wont listen. Everyone is saying LG is a turd or LG sucks. All I got to say is I got a 50$ dual core 1.5 dual ghz phone while you have a 200$ 1.2 dual ghz :)
 
And I thought I was the one that kept starting Crap!

I know I have a big mouth, but I really do not mean to piss people off, I do have a really bad memory, and try to put things like "(I think)" when I don't really remember details, but sometimes my brain things it is passing on correct info to my mouth/fingers, only it is not. I have not had my head checked out, but it gets pretty bad sometimes. I often forget "words" but remember their definitions, or remember the word but no matter how hard I try, I cannot say it.

Anyway...

You might want to jump in the irc channel and ask about the naming conventions, I think the guys there can give you a break down on how since of the file names and folder names compare to other android Roms. That had been the hardest part with porting and bin kangs (hahaha, Swype tried to put "Laden" after "bin" instead of "kangs"... developers can be so funny sometimes)

Hopefully with an "LG Spectrum II" on its way, (supposedly, i am still not sure it is a spectrum...) we will get the kernel source after ICS drops.

I am also a big fan of ellipses, commas, and parenthesis (if you have not noticed).

Look forward to anything you can do to grow our Rom base!
