I got captivate about a month ago and because I have ipod touch, I did not bother to put songs in my cellphone. However, to have a custom ringtone, I need to put music! I tried to put them in intermal storage, and external sd storage. Both failed! The music player won't play the songs. It says something like not supporting the file format. I have been reading a couple of threads from the forum regarding this issue. Some people say twitter app might be interferring with the player. So I deleted and still did not work. Also some people said that advanced task killer might do the same, too. I deleted that too but nothing changed.
So the only solution to this problem was to do factory reset. After I did this, the music player worked! So I downloaded all my new old apps including twitter and ATK assuming these weren't the problems...
After several hours, the player stopped working, giving me the same message about how this type of format is not supported.
This is REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATING!!!! What is the cause of this problem!!! Twitter or ATK?????????
