The Note DOES Have Gorilla Glass

For those of you who didn't know, or thought that the Galaxy Note didn't have Gorilla Glass. It's been confirmed by Corning themselves.

Oh thank god! I can finally get some sleep! lol
But in all seriousness, I'm glad to know this. Thanks for finding the info.

Lol I responded the same way. It wasn't all that big of a deal to me, but posting this will stop any arguments, and help people make a decision. Since I know that Gorilla Glass will make, or break a decision for some people.

I never seen Gorilla Glass this weak. I used my wacom pen which has a felt nib. While I was pulling the screen up with the pen, it made a squeaking noise, and I knew something bad happened to my 3 days old Note. The screen had a deep scratch over 2 cm length! I didn't ever expect such thing to happen as I was using the pen ultra light, and with a felt tip, and it's not a dusty place where I'm at. I keep my gadgets very clean. In fact, all the protective stickers are still intact.
The scratch is pretty deep, I can feel it with my fingernail, and on white background I can see some pixels being magnified.

Hi forum. Just got my Samsung Galaxy Note NT-7000. I was wondering if there is a clear transparent factory installed screen protector underneath the Samsung Super Amoled vinyl graphic? I see there are some gaps between this transparent protector and the edge of the phone but wasn't sure if this was meant to be removed before I install a screen protector. Kind of like with the Motorola Triumph it was discovered that there was a factory screen protector adhered onto the Gorilla Glass that caused the screen to become less responsive:

Not to sound unsympathetic, but I'd be willing to bet the scratch didn't do itself. That would mean that someone did it, either by accident or purposely. My bet would be carelessness played a big part.
Screen protectors, gorilla glass and otter cases will never be as good as good old fasion just being careful. The name "Gorilla Glass" can be misleading, as it does not make your device from the planet Krypton. It only give it a small resistance to scratches, but doesn't make it invulnerable. You have to take some responsibility yourself in the way you treat and handle it on a moment-to-moment basis, because a momentarily lapse in judgement can produce a undesirable result.

Good Luck.
