Root The Official One-Click Rooting Solution for Droid Thread!!! :D :D LATEST: V2.0.4

I have tried many one click rooting solutions on a motorola droid for cellcom with no success! I have on the other hand, found a simpler way to root the phone. It involves using rsdlite and flashing sprecovery to the phone, then a simple update.zip package will unlock it. This will work on pretty much any motorola phone running android regardless of the version. Not sure about this working on Droid X though. If you are interested in links to this package, lemme know and i'll post them. Thanks

I ran into a small problem and would really appreciate some help. I ran soup or root 2.6 It finished I re booted my phone and now it is on a black screen that says

Bootloader
2c.7c

Battery OK
ok to program
transfer mode
USB

So what did I do wrong. Thanks in advance for your help

Reboot your Droid by pulling the battery and letting it sit for a minute. That's random how it got into bootloader, it shouldn't have done that. Try 2.04 or 2.05 Extreme Beta (around the thread or my blog) that should do it :)

2.04 didn't work but 2.05 did. When 2.05 got finished it was stuck in a boot loop so I pulled the battery started the phone back and I now have the super user icon in my applications list. So it looks like my phone is rooted right?
Thanks for your help. I donate some next pay day.

hey i just created an account to say thank you so much for this method. iv been looking everywhere and this is by far the best one i have ever seen. One question thought. Everytime you come out with an update do i need to update my phone with your update? If you have time please PM me and let me know. Again thank you very much and i do support soup or root

No, you do not need to run this once you have gained root, unless you lose root. In other words, you run this program once (or a few times depending on how many times it takes you to gain root). If you ever flash an .sbf file (to get rid of root), then you would have to run this again to gain root again.

You do not need to run this every time the program is update.

Thanks for all the awesome comments so far guys!! I have been testing on various droids now to see why 2.06 doesn't work for everyone but I haven't reached a solid conclusion other than the Milestone (A854) won't work with 2.06 but will with 1.8rA.

Enjoy and don't forget to donate if you liked Soup or Root!! :D :D

I used version 1.8rA to root my friend's phone today, and it worked great! Very easy to follow and perform.

I run "soup or root" and the command window appears the disappears in a heartbeat. I click "root" and nothing happens... I find the icon in the system tray and it says "script paused." I can find no way to un-pause it!

What am I doing wrong????

@RevJonG - Which version are you running? You usually have to be patient and just wait about 3-5 minutes for it to do its thing. Do you have USB Debugging enabled on your Droid? Do you have the moto drivers installed? Did you follow the instructions? ;)

Now matter what people said about I click fix. This is the first fix that work without download anything else.

Just download app.,
setup phone
run app.
Done.

Thanks again,

Using Vista, and 2.06 beta,
debugging is on
drivers are installed

When the "done" window pops up, will the Droid reboot on it's own, or do it unplug it and reboot myself? I've waited about 5 minutes after hitting ok and it won't reboot, and when I reboot it manually, it doesn't seem to work, as I don't see the superuser app on the phone. Help?

Also, the downloaded file says 2.06 beta, but the program window says 2.04. is there a problem with the link i used (used both the one on this page and the OP)? And on the 1.81 I get the "not found" problem in the .exe program when I try to open it, and it makes my computer randomly open programs if I let it hang for a few minutes.

Being patient did the trick... I did not get a status bar or any indication it was working. When I just "walked away" and left it alone it finished :)

Glad to hear it worked guys and thanks for the donations, you rock!!!

@AMTrombley0924 - I noticed that as I tried rooting a friend's droid, I totally goofed up by using the wrong engine with the newer unpacking design, oops!! I'm going to fix that when I get some time this week (midterms at school) and release 2.07 Beta soon!! I was wondering why 2.06 wasn't working for so many people... lol!

Just rooted my Droid for the first time yesterday using Soup or Root. Just wanted to give a big thanks to RDKamikaze for all the hard work. This program makes the whole process super easy. :)

OK, see if anyone can help me out.

Debugging on - Check
Newest Drivers - Check

When i start up the newest beta...if flashes the command window for about 3 seconds and then your program starts. I Clicked Root button, then click the OK for the warning/info box...thennnn nothing.

One thing to know is that I am on a work computer so I am not sure if something on it is blocking the program from working.

Thanks

Hey, i just rooted my Droid 2 with this, and it went through just fine. the only thing i can find not working at the moment is that when i go to view the statistics of my battery life i get an error message stating the following:

"The application Settings (process.com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks.

Hi Guys

In this App there is a Backdoor build in.

The Author says,, No Virus". WAHT?? And why popup Kaspersky this as a Trojan???

Just because he says there is no virus in it, you believe him the same.

There have been other alleged and something that in hindsight it was TROJANS!

In other Linux forum of this virus as dangerous and is known to exploit!

So tell all that crap even non-it would not be a virus!

Too bad that here a Trojan is distributed in the belief he was not dangerous!

Plz dont trust this. Its a backdoor exploit!:mad::mad:
