The Protection app from Sprint

Search "The Protection" in the market. It is a great app from Sprint. It backs up all your contacts, will locate your phone if you cannot find it, use GPS to locate your phone in the event it is lost or stolen.

It is free.
 
Did not find any such app in the market, unless it is only for not rooted phones

Oh, and I do not see the real use of it. Your contacts are already backed up to Google and there are lots of apps to track your phone. I use ES Security so that I can also remotely lock it.

i also like lookout - it'll also scan the apps i download from the market and make sure they're "safe" and do a full scan once. link it to an online account and you can check your phone online, too. it doesn't lock it remotely but will do something they call a "scream" which is ridiculous if it's stolen, lol
