Help The strangest problem...

First of all, I would like to say thanks to everyone on this amazing forum for all of their contributions, you have all been a great help.

But, this is a problem I've never heard of or seen before and the tech guys at the store were completely stumped.

Data works no problem, text messages no problem, calling out no problem, but calling in doesn't! I can't receive incoming calls, its the weirdest thing. It would forward them to voicemail, then we disabled that too.

We tried all the mobile network setting and that didn't work, went into the call settings (call forwarding etc...) that didn't work.

I bought this phone because it was (from what I read) unlocked from the get go and the radio frequencies (except for LTE) are compatible up here in Canada and 3G is fine for me. We don't have phones anywhere nearly like this, the selections up here are really sh!tty.

Tried the Bell store demo SIM, my prepaid SIM from Bell and a Rogers demo SIM, all the same problem.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure the first day I went in and tried their demo SIM, I got incoming calls.... (Early morning so I'm only pretty sure =p)

Factory reset in the settings menu, no dice, APN's no dice.

Is there another type of reset that can be done? Would rooting it help?

Thanks to all in advance for their help!

Almost forgot, when I did the factory reset, it seems to have kept many if not all of the settings that I had changed, such as having set it in GSM only mode (didn't come that way) and having disabled call forwarding etc...

You probably didn't do a factory reset. Sounds more like a "soft" reset. I'm not sure how to do a real factory reset on this phone. On my LG Viper, the only way I could wipe the OS and start from scratch was using a PC and the LG toolkit to reinstall Android ICS clean.

As for chasing down the actual problem, I've seen bad SIM cards on GSM carriers do some similar things, and I've seen bad phones do it, but we could only do SIM swaps to see if that fixed it... if not, we either swapped their phone (warranty) or we told them "tough chit, buy a new one".

That may be true, though it is interesting that it went straight to voicemail.

We ended up switching sim cards with other providers, same thing happened.

But, what was really interesting is when I dialled *611, it didn't send me to bell, which is the provider of my SIM but to verizon. I have a feeling that that tells me something about whats wrong, some programmed in conflict or something in the phone I think
