Help The sucky camera

I had Galaxy Indulge before i even though it was only 3Megapixels it didn't much better photos than Esteem's 5MP and I noticed that size of photo is only 300-500KB which should be rather 3MB, What's wrong with this phone, it seems worse than Indulge, CPU lacks power, shuttering animations and Flash and videos. Did Gingerbread broke so much or Hummingbird it twice as better as Snapdragon including camera
 
im sorry to say but you are highly mistaken, whatever you are doing may not be analyzed accurately. once you optimize the phone correctly. your aspect would be greatly shifted and the camera is a continent better than the indulges. i know. me and a friend compares all the time.

I can't speak on the Indulge, however, I've taken some really nice photos with this phone and all of my pics are around 1-2mb each.
 
My camera works awesome! Hell, I took a pic of my kids at night and the flash came on and made the pic even better.
 
I can't compare with Indulge but with the Optimus and the Esteem camera is by far better than the Optimus.
 
This camera on the LG is far better than the one on the Indulge. The pictures I take come out clear and sharp.

Perhaps you have a bad phone, like the person mentioned above or maybe you have something " a smudge " or something covering the clear lens that covers the camera optics.
 
I have no complaints with mine... in fact, after comparing photos, I couldn't be more impressed... honestly, I now have no need for my regular digital SLR.
With all the various camera and effect apps available for it, it can do everything I'll ever need it to do. (but then again, I'm not a professional sports photographer or bird watcher either. lol)

This forums for isn't for rudeness. Rather for help and assistance. If users have any concerns, post them here but when someone gives their experience or advise, comments like your's are looked down on. How would you like it if someone responed to you like that; forum or real life?

Nobody on this forum MADE this or any phone..keep that in mind.

--Now, To kindly answer your question. I've had the Indulge and now have the Esteem. The Esteem by far is 100% better than the Indulge in many aspects.--

As far as your camera issue, if what you're saying is true and you've correctly change the settings in the camera to increase the resolution to 5mp. Which are as followed; open your camera app, it will open in landscape, on left - bottom corner you will see a 'gear' icon, click on that icon to open your settings, the first option is "Image Size" - make sure there is a check mark on the 5M(2592x1944).

IF you've done this and it still is not working. Reformat your phone, it could simply be a software annomaly. To reformate your phone; HOLD down BOTH Volume UP and DOWN at the same time and then press and HOLD the power key. While holding those keys down after about 3sec's you'll feel a small vibrate, once you feel this vibrate release the POWER key ONLY and keep the volume keys pressed until you see the LG recovery menu. If you confirm, just tap the power key twice, the phone will reformat.

Then try your camera again.

If that still didn't work, then you might have a lemon. You'll need to go to a corp store and have it exchanged. If you're still under the warranty guidelines. This CAN happen and is normal. These devices are made 1-2 million at a time. A few thousand will most likely by mass manufacturing will be lemons. Just how it goes.

**Before doing the reformat. Are you using the stock built in camera app? Or a third party app? If a third part app, try the default camera app.**

You can see freaking pixels just when you zoom a little bit and i have 3 and 5 Megapixel cameras at home i can compare, end of story, it's not 5MP on Esteem, Just like MetroPCS isn't 4G
 
Zoomed all the way out. Wheres all the pixels?

Actually, megapixels is the size of the image, so, yeah, it's 5 mps. That does not mean it has the best lenses or sensors. This is a phone first and foremost not a dedicated digital camera.
 
ok buddy. anything that pleases you. all i can say is. yes. its 4G alright and definitely 5mp. i zoom in and its still pretty beautiful. i have more than enough phones to compare the difference

What it seems like is either your spaming or you actually have no idea on the technical side of things.

Yes. The LG Esteem is a TRUE 5 megapixel camera. Just in case you do not know what megapixels really mean. To keep it simple, it simply is for print. So the higher megapixels you have the larger prints you can, print. And megapixels in regards on the computer or the phone is the resolution size. Why on your phone you see 5m(2592x1944).

Metropcs is and was the first cell phone provider in the U.S. to launch true 4G LTE. Sprint on the other hand launched WiMax which was not true 4G due to it's lack of speeds. It didn't fit the world telecommunications data speed guidelines.

Please make sure you understand what you're saying because it only makes you look like you do not know what you're talking about.

If you don't know please do not post information that is not true. If you want to inquire about what features are supported or want to know we'll do help you out.

But when you start tossing out information and info that's not even correct..doen't look good.

If you're phone is getting pixelated with our without zooming then its a hardware issue. More than likely your camera lens/hardware is defective.

Like I mentioned above. Just take it back and exchange it. It's that simple. :)

Just mellow out, I'm sure your upset because you caughed up a good pennie for the phone as well all did. That's why there's a warranty. Get a new one! :P
