The Switch

I'm new here and realize this topic may have already been addressed. I'm switching from my iPhone after owning every iPhone from it's inception. This is very intimidating for me. The phone I'm about to get is the Galaxy Note 2... the unlocked version. I called Amazon and they swore up and down it will work on Verizon's 4G network. Can anyone verify this for me?

Welcome to the forums, mjack1957! :hello:
I can say with pretty good confidence it will NOT work with Verizon's LTE network. AFAIK the only version Amazon (or any other retailer) is selling is the GSM model. We'll have to wait until Verizon announces their own version which I believe is on Oct 29th.
Also, for further reading, be sure to check out the Note 2 forum:

If my upgrade was up or I had the money, I'd snatch up one of these in a heartbeat. :)

Here is a press release from yesterday:

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is finally going to release in U.S. on 24th October after a long waiting time. The 5.55-inch screener will come to all major U.S. network carriers, official announcements from AT&T and Verizon is still awaited, but Sprint is all set to release the next big thing in the market.

Sprint will start offering Galaxy Note 2 for customers on 25th October at a price of $299 with 2 year service contract. Sprint has also announced the Galaxy Note 2 compatible unlimited data plan. Sprint’s Everything Data plan with Any Mobile Anytime starts at $79.99 and includes unlimited Web, texting and calling.

While both Sprint and Verizon use CDMA networks, it's not available for Verizon yet, although it does seem pretty likely.

maybe .. it is time to "switch" carriers as well..
since both AT&T and Sprint has the NOTE2 with LTE. do these carriers have LTE in your area??

I too am about to make the switch after owning every iphone since it came out. I've been reading a lot of stuff on all forums, especially here. I think I am ready to make the switch. Never have owned any type of android. Any advice would be appreciated. Note 2 with LTE coming soon...:)

It's going to be hard the first week.. Always trying to compare... How you used to do something.

Try your best to not compare.. And just roll with new way.. Pretend you know nothing

And remember..if stuck.. always ask try these things ..
Try menu button.. or
long press.. Or
Is there something in play store to help?
