Grass fed too. We had a truck hit a cow. There was no denying we hit the cow but by the time I got there the rancher had already started to butcher it. Then demanded we pay for his cow. Told him as soon as he loads it into my pickup we'll cut a check. Turns out it had some disease and was going to put it down the next day. Instead he got the bill for repairing our truck for not keeping his cattle properly

Don't be too sad wyn, in Luna's area the deer are like squirrels on the side of the road. You can go more than a quarter mile (2/3 KM???) without seeing a deer hit by a car or truck.

These ranchers will try anything to get money out of us. We had one guy claim the dust from our trucks. They were ready to pay fair market just to shut him up. He wanted triple that. We demanded an independent vet examine the bodies. Suddenly they had already been sent to slaughter.

Unfortunately those kind of people can be found all over the planet. Kinda spoils it for the rest of us.. There are lots of nice people, but then hardly ever make the news..
