The Tablet Tavern

Ahhh, enjoying work, eh? :)
While there's obviously some aspects of my job I don't care for, making the best bread in DC (I seriously mean this!) is incredibly rewarding. While our restaurant is not cheap, the entire team behind it is 1000% in ensuring the guest has the best time possible.
Did I mention the bread basket is the first thing every table gets? ;):D

But yeah, there's certainly different philosophies. I've had many a convo with my wife about this. For some, a job is an income where life fulfillment is outside of work (traveling, spending time with friends, hobbies, etc). But, IMO, work consumes such a large portion of your time that I think it SHOULD be something that you really enjoy and find it rewarding.
My .02. :)

That's true, Larry Page (CEO of Google) once said, "You will never work a day in your life, if what you do is what you love".

Morning kids.

About me and work. I normally enjoy work when I'm good at it lol. So I guess I have to push myself into doing new things and be more open minded. Hmm.

It is going good. Just finished dinner. south west chicken with spanish rice and mixed vegetables.

I've been helping a fellow member here try to recover his GS2, though I am beginning to think he has a hardware issue at this point. :/

I don't think he has insurance, he was rooted and was running a custom ROM, and he has been on it for a while, the phone just shut down on him. He thought it was the battery, but it was something else. He took it back to the stock ROM with odin and even did a factory reset and still not booting all the way up. I got a couple more things for him to try, one being taking the phone all the way back to the original ICS ROM his phone came with.

Well I gave the link to the USB jib that will let him reset the flash counter so he can return it. He got it in September I believe, which should still be under factory warranty.

That's good to know.

Trying out Hay Day ;p it just came to android.

The one iOS app that I really want on Android is Day One, though. It's a journaling app that syncs across all devices and it just looks great :P

Good morning all. Just got our power back on. Luckily I made the coffee just before the power died. It figures the power would go out when the generator won't start.

Yeah me too. I have battery backup power but that will only give me a couple hours for things like the satellite receiver and tv etc. I need the generator for things like the well pump.

Afternoon folks. Miserable weather outside.
Going to make some bread for dinner. :)

Edit: And looking into some recipes to make a cherry chocolate hazelnut sourdough to bring for Thanksgiving. I've made it before in past bakeries but don't have the recipe. :(
Hopefully I don't have to wing it too much.

I broke down and went out and bought me one ... going on my third cup already. Hot fresh coffee even makes *this* weather tolerable ... barely. :)

I have one in my work truck. The mini that needs to be refilled every time is perfect. I'm too scared to brew while driving

Mine was mounted in my work van, and I modified the locking strap from a vehicle mount bracket for a fire extinguisher to hold the mug in place while it was brewing.

Bread is done. Gotta let it cool. Chicken has been marinating. Going to fry it off, onions are carmalized, chix gravy done, apple cranberry jam ready, fontina and spinach.
Probably a pretty good pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving sammy.
Sauteing off some brussel sprouts with bacon on the side. Shall be a nice dinner. :)

The roads I drive down they could use it for vibration tests. I'm surprised my fillings are still in. One road, six miles, takes 90 minutes to drive down.
