Funny story, I got called asking for a meeting with a couple venture capitalists to start a consulting company.

Let this be a lesson kids, math with only letters eventually pays off.

My credit card. No I can't lower my hand. My other one is the quadratic equation.

I remembered capital one. They cold called me three times in one night so I called them and complained. This was before the days of the do not call list.

I prefer math with only symbols. Symbols I don't know how to write on a keyboard.

Good afternoon people. Just complained to my insurance provider. Their payment system doesn't take credit cards anymore, and they were expecting me to give them a bank account number. I told them that is not happening. I contacted my bank and made the arrangements to pay the bill without giving the insurance company my bank account.

I never authorize automatic payments where a third party can make automatic debits to my accounts. I decide who gets paid and when.

BTW, if you ever sent them a check, they already have your account and bank routing number. ;)

I never sent them a check. I also never use automatic payments, and have it setup with my back to do it manually. I can now just log onto my account when I want to make the payment and make it through my bank. This works out pretty good. All I needed was the account number for my insurance policy, which appears on the bill.

It just floored me that a major insurance company was not accepting credit card for payment. I prefer that as I understand the liability and protection rules for that, and it is very easy to cancel and issue a new card through my bank, if there is a problem.

It is much more of a pain if you have a problem with a third party having your bank account number, involving closing your account and opening a new one.

I certainly can understand them not accepting credit card payments. We are moving in that direction because of the merchant fees involved.

I get direct deposit for my paycheck and pay most of my bills online. Pretty soon a bank won't need tellers. ;)

That's true, but I like going into my bank. Their always so nice to everyone.

Google keyboard can write most. Love those nerds.

Anyone here a programmer? When I was in high school I was exploring becoming a coder, because I'm insane, and most companies I talked to prefer a math degree over a programming degree. Is that still true?
