Chernobyl? 1986 is a long time ago?

Damn, I'm old. *sigh*

By the way, it was in the Ukraine, part of the U.S.S.R. at the time ... not technically "Russia" ;))

Yes! Whole plant blew up just to save money. Really, if you are messing around with things like nuclear power, safety and knowledgeable workers are not something you want to cut.

The whole thing resulted from an experiment, that should not have been tried, especially on a reactor with a design flaw.

Yeah, that'll be cool.

Okay... So... Chemistry and computer engineering is not all I want to know... If I wanted to start developing apps for android.. Should I learn Java first then start, or should I just jump into android development tutorials.

(I'm not a developer by any means... I'm a complete newb :P)

Or just start with one of the available app frameworks and figure it out.

I "learned" (using the term loosely) programming years ago in the c64 days and one thing that stuck with me is that non-programmers came up with more creative ideas than programmers because programmers were aware of the limitations. For example someone who knew the c64 architecture would typically create games with 8 or less characters/moving objects because they knew it was limited to 8 sprites but someone not familiar with the c64 might design a game to have 12 characters/moving objects on screen at once.

So download the whole android dev kit, its not like Apple where you have to develop on Apple, you can download the tools for Android to your choice of pc and just start.

Right but if I don't understand anything its like reading another language (even though it basically is)

I did ride one many years ago. It wanted to jump the fence with me on it. I decided otherwise and got the horse to stop, and quietly waited for the owner to catch up with me. I calmly hopped off the horse and let her take it back to the stable, while I walked the mile back.

The horse judges me and my faces constantly.
