BTW, whatever happened to tablets? I'm going to be in the market for one pretty soon to replace my croaking T-101.

What are you looking for? Carrier coverage? Touchwiz? AOSP? Size? Price? Preferred manufacturer?

My school has a notice at the entrance with a list of prohibited items:

No knives
No firearms
No fireworks or other explosive items.

Sure it's because a school is supposed to be a safe environment. Some people might need reminding, can't always rely on common sense, and could be a legal requirement as well. I've read about some schools having to employ airport style security measures, with metal detectors, x-rays and frisking. Think it was in the US.
