The Tablet Tavern

If it comes down to it, perhaps I'll turn to Kickstarter. A friend of mine went that route to open his homemade soda business and raised what he needed in about 48hrs! I'll need considerably more, but it's an option.

A word about being in business for yourself ... the owner can be a real S.O.B. ;)

You will work harder and longer than you thought possible. Everybody and their brother will have their hand in your pocket and everybody's problems become yours. And, it's one of the best experiences you can ever have. :D

You already had finances partly arranged right? Got your business plan all worked out? Are you going to sell breakfast and lunch to go also?

Ha nope!
Just looking for a super small artisan (and I hate that word) bakery and just sell top notch breads. Perhaps sammies or the occasional special dinner outing. There's some popular places in DC which follow a similar model. Just want to keep it low key. Staff of less than 10 is plenty.

Go to some local businesses with cafeterias and offer to supply them with fresh baked items. Work with caterers and cafe's. Even local groceries can be profitable. You'll make much more money from those types of transactions than consumer walk-ins.

Marketing 101 ... no charge. ;)

My wife's boss and owner (20+ years) of his catering company may be interested in helping me out. I'm not immediately interested in wholesale. It's a possibility in the future but I'd rather this be the neighborhood bakery. The one in Kansas, while huge, is not slowing down at all despite spikes in bread prices.

Danke schon :) Viel SpaB heute fur dich.

(German is different from Dutch, but we all learn it in school.)

I have another interview in 2 hours, and this one I really want to get into. I'm so nervous.I usually do bad at interviews especially when they ask me about my weakness:(

Is it common practice in interviews there to ask applicants about weaknesses? Tell them you don't have any.
