The Warp can't MULTI-TASK!!!!

I think I've figured out why my Warp has been having quite a few issues lately (mainly, restarting & freezing up)...it simply can't do more than one thing at a time!!!

What all do you do to cause the restarts???
How 'bout just simply using the phone?! :(

Sometimes, all I may be doing is texting. I'll be in the middle of a text and then...BOOM...the screen freezes up, goes black, and then here comes that annoying Boost start-up tone!!!

The problems don't pop up all the time, but it happens enough to piss me off!!!

I am pretty sure it is an app that is causing this issue. I was having this issue until did a wipe. I have sense installed most of the apps back except a few and no black screen reboots. Up time counter was at 60+hrs till i let the battery drain.

I would highly suggest starting fresh, install no more than 2 applications at a time, use it for an hour or so. If no problems occur, install another 2, rinse and repeat.

I've done a factory reset once before due to the same issue. If there is a particular app (or apps) causing this problem, I wish someone could tell me which ones (or ones) it is!!

I've done that, and did not reinstall any apps, pics or music, and I still had the problem. I am happy that it has worked for sone though.

i would suggest you try getting you handset replaced.

IDK man i havent had any of the problems listed on the forum... wish i could help. if you realy think it cant multi task then just get advanced task killer and set a auto kill list. its quite EZ if u try.

Spend another $200 (actually, I got the phone for $150 with that early Dec. online discount) for the same phone that might have the same problems (which apparently aren't isolated)?! I don't think so!!

Believe it or not, I actually thought I did enough research on the device before I purchased it. I guess I was wrong about that. :(

I'd read up on task killers for Android before I use them. They are not necessary, and can possibly do damage.

I actually do have ATK. My issues STILL exist. :(

You make it sound easier than it probably really is. Exactly how many hoops will I have to jump through to actually make that happen?!?!

Personally I have't seen hardly any restarting issues since the B08 update. I am rooted and have around 60 apps installed. I used to see a reboot issue while playing angry birds but I don't play anymore so I don't know if that's still an issue.

As to the annoying boot sound, you can disable it by using root explorer and renaming the sound file in /system/media/audio/ui/bootsound.mp3 to a different name, this will give you a silent boot. This was one of the FIRST mods I did after rooting :)

It's not a high end phone, I think you are right that it can't handle a ton of processing at once, but you might have a hardware issue if it's rebooting frequently after the b08 update. I do experience it running slower sometimes when I am doing too much at once like running pandora while browsing then jumping into a game or something but it hasn't shut off in a long time on it's own.

Just my 2c

believe what u want. I've had the warp since day one and its worked fine. I use advanced task killer and my phone never bogs down so how would it hurt

As I said, read up on it.
According to the developers of Android, it is designed by its nature to self-close apps as needed. It's not like Windows where you have to close the apps manually. Android is made to operate running multiple apps in the background. And the amount of juice they use is barely noticeable, as with the cpu usage.
There's more on this on line, or over on XDA.

As I stated in another thread:
I had a few issues with the Warp I bought in November. I called ZTE just before the holidays and they emailed me a FEDEX shipping label and I sent it out on Dec. 21 and got new phone back on Dec. 28
I think the hardest part of the whole ordeal was getting 'Peter' at ZTE to understand the spelling of my email address  and then the FEDEX ground delivery as it took long time to get to Texas from New York.
